guide to visit

Mora

Delightful Alentejo village, Mora shows perfectly the traditional peace of mind and quietness of the amazing Alentejo region.

The Mora department is located on the hydrographical basin of the river Tejo, surrounded by woods of cork oak, pine and olive trees. In this region, the contact with nature is unconditional, as it is the department on the south side of the river Tejo with the highest forest density.

With human occupancy vestiges since pre-historical times, here can be found several megalithic vestiges, many in very good conservation state, as for instance the S. Dinis Chapel in Pavia where, during the medieval period, a big Anta was adapted into a chapel.
