With an inexorable Tourism reputation in Portugal, Estoril is one of the major cosmopolitan localities of Lisboa’s region.
With an excellent night animation, endowed with good beaches, famous hotels, parks and gardens, esplanadas, golf courses and the famous Casino, Estoril has undeniably maintained its prestige image through the years.
Also known by its luminous coastline, where defensive fortresses of other times, Estoril coast was already looked for by Kings and Queens, that here discovered peace, facilities and medicinal waters. Maintaining its prestige of housing the Portuguese Royalty, Estoril became even more famous in the 30’s of the 20th century and in the period during and after II World War for housing various refugees and exiled, such as the King Juan Carlos of Spain, the Counts of Barcelona, the King Humberto II of Italy, Carol II from Romania and countless figures from the most distinct sport, economical, cultural and artistic panorama, as well as an endless number of Jewish pursued by the III Reich.
Nowadays, visiting Estoril is still synonym of walking through historical paths, among the deep blue ocean and the lively green of its pleasant gardens, watching the colourful noble mansions of other times that inhabit beside the modern quality apartments.
