Meada Menhir
Discovered in 1965 the Meada Menhir is the biggest one in the entire Iberian Peninsula discovered so far. With about 4 meters long as from the ground and a maximum diameter of 1,25 meter, the Menhir weights about 15 tonnes.
Classified as National Monument, the Meada Menhir was probably built during the Neo-Chalcolithic period, in a quite rich area in megalithic vestiges, apparently aligned.
When it was found, the Menhir was fragmented, and since then has received some conservation works which allow to closely restore the original appearance of this granite monolith with a phallic configuration.
