"Mó da Praia" (TER-CC) allows you to stay in an original and truly authentic accommodation of Graciosa Island, for families and friends up to 6 people, distributed by 2 rooms in the mill body and two living rooms.
This was one of the last grinding mills on Graciosa Island until 2002, the year of the death of its previous owner, Mr. Manuel Frutuoso Moniz.
The windmill's recovery project began in 2009 and ended in 2016, with the purpose of preserving its original characteristics to the maximum, while guaranteeing optimal habitability conditions in a privileged landscape. The recovery process began with the dome, built by traditional processes using endemic woods. Some utensils and tools used in milling activity were also recovered for future memory and are shown in the accommodation.
"Mó da Praia" received the 4th level of the "Miosotis Azores" Award for environmental sustainability, promoted by the Regional Directorate for the Environment of the Azores. We have the "Gold +" rating by Casas Açorianas (Rural Tourism Association in Açores).
Sleeping with no corners, however with lots of charm... in "Mó da Praia"!
