Description
The Pousada de Viseu is located in central Portugal, in the city of Viseu, 5 minutes on foot from the Parque Florestal do Fontelo. It is located in the old Hospital de São Teotónio, one of the oldest hospitals of the city, that opened in 1842 and features views of the historic part of the city. This old hospital was completely reconstructed and adapted by architect Gonçalo Byrne in 2009. The hospital is an important landmark in the most peaceful city centre in Portugal.
During your stay, you can enjoy the spa, where you can schedule massages and treatments, use the sauna, whirpool bath, gym and Turkish bath as well as a heated indoor swimming pool. If you bring your children, you can also rest easy, as the Kids Club* runs throughout the summer, so you can enjoy the fantastic outdoor pool.
The Pousada also offers a restaurant, a bar, a very unique wine room, a cigar lounge and conference rooms. The rooms are spacious with balconies featuring great views.

During your stay at the Pousada de Viseu, take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool or opt for something a little more relaxing at the spa and get a wonderful Magic Spa massage.
Feast on local fare at the Viriato restaurant and enjoy a fantastic wine dinner. However, if you prefer something more intimate, reserve the Pousada's Salão Nobre. The Mestre Grão Vasco Cloister, in the centre of the Pousada, is one of its classic spots, tranformed into a bar that offers jazz concerts on Fridays and live piano on Saturdays.
You can also visit the cigar lounge where the pharmacy once was, now offering stiff drinks. If you are a fan of wine, visit the Dom Duarte Room, where you can appreciate renowned wines from this expanding wine region. It is a unique and exceptional place. To hold events or meetings, the Pousada offers various multi-use rooms with a capacity of 400 people. The Pousada offers free on-site parking.
LOCATION AND DESTINATION
Viseu has numerous points of interest surrounding it, including the lush green Parque Florestal de Fontelo (Park), the Cava de Viriato (Fort), the Roman ruins, the Grão Vasco National Rennasaince Painting Museum, the Sé treasure and the Casa-Museu de Almeida Moreira (Museum-House), which tells the story of this historic city.
The closest airport is Porto International Airport which is 138 km away. About 7 km from the centre of the city, you will find the Viseu Aerodrome (Gonçalves Lobato) with daily flights operated by Aerovip between Bragança and Portimão, stopping in Vila Real, Viseu and Cascais.
