No other Port house has a history longer or richer than that of Croft. Visit us and learn more about the fascinating history of Port wine.
Croft traces its origins to 1588 when the company was established in England by Henry Thompson. The Croft family, which joined the partnership in 1736 and gave the firm its present name, served the Port trade with great distinction. The reputation of the firm as a vintage Porto producer derives to a large extend from its ownership of Quinta da Roêda, one of the finest estates in the Douro valley. In 2008 the firm launched the Croft Pink, the first ever port with a beautiful light ruby colour, achieved from light contact with the skins of traditional port grapes.In Croft’s magnificent wine cellars, professional and highly educational tours take place all year round. Afterwards you may, if you wish, taste aged Tawnies, superb vintage Ports or even enjoy delicious chocolate or cheese pairings.Should you prefer it is possible to reserve a private tour or an interesting spectacle of opening a vintage Port with tongs.
