Barão de São Miguel

Barão de São Miguel is a peaceful small village situated in the lovely Vila do Bispo department, in the Algarve region.

This is a rural village, filled with peace of mind that has wisely survived the urban and touristic development of the Algarve region in the past decades.

The village is characterized by its charming typical white houses with a coloured bar around windows and doors, with the traditional Algarve’s chimneys, showing off the big Moorish influence, not only because of the proximity with the North of Africa, but also by the many years of Moorish occupancy of the territory.

This typical village is surrounded by rounded mounts covered with rock-roses and is proud of its Mother Church of the 16th century with a lovely rural style, as the entire village.
