São Bruno Fort

Information

Built in 1647, the São Bruno Fort is one of the coastal defence built at this epoch, in order to protect Lisboa region from enemies attacks through the Atlantic Ocean, and the entrance of the River Tagus.
This Fort is one of the most beautiful in all the Coast and has a geometrical shape; the northern rampart with two watchtowers and those on the landward side are defended by a ravelin.
The Fort has been recently restored due to its degradation state of degradation and nowadays the Fortress and its surrounding space became a pleasant leisure space.
