Torres Vedras, São Pedro da Cadeira - Torres Vedras


Passo Fort is sited very close to the sea, on a small piece of hight ground. It formed parted of the group defending the northwest section of the Lines, alongside the forts of Bececarias (nº 83 and Belmonte (nº 81 ), to the west and the south respectively. Its purpose was, on the other, to close off the acess to Urmeiro and Belmonte.
In its interior, part of the structure of a windmill has been preserved for use as a magazine.
