Fuseta

Olhão

Information

Land of fishermen, Fuseta still conserves many of its houses in cubic form with the typical terraces of the Algarve (“açoteias”) and with curious chimneys in form of balloon, an important heritage from the Moorish influence in this Southern region of Portugal.
Fuseta’s main activity continues to be Fishing, however Tourisn is currently emerging due to the charming beach, to the proximity to the Islands of Armona and Fuseta and to the campsite that receives hundreds of visitors in Summer time.
The Main Church in Fuseta has some good images from the 18th century and in its atrium is situated a great belvedere over the town, with beautiful landscapes of the Ria Formosa and of the blue-charming ocean. Also, the fishing port, coloured with all the fishing boats, as well as the beach , whose environmental restoration was recently awarded with a prize, is one of the great spots in the Algarve worth a visit.
