Jardim Amália Rodrigues

Lisboa

Information

The Jardim Amália Rodrigues in Lisbon, is a beautiful garden designed by architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles. It was so named in 2000 to honor the fadista Amália Rodrigues.

It opened in 1996, as part of the project linking the upper part of Parque Eduardo VII and the pedestrian access to Monsanto, called the Green Corridor. Its focus and design give you a wide variety of environments.

It has a large amphitheater facing the valley of Avenida da Liberdade and a circular lake, in which is located a bar with terrace.

The pool of water is perhaps the element of most interest along with the restaurant. In the garden were also placed two statues, one by the colombian sculptor Fernando Botero, and the other by the portuguese Lagoa Henriques.

The entrance is free.
