Situated in the peaceful village of Bombarral, in the lovely 19th century Manor House “Palácio Gorjão, where also workd the Tourist Office, the Municipal Museum of Bombarral is indicated for those who pretend to know better the region and comprehend the history of Portugal.

This museum has interesting archaeological collections, mainly pre-historical, and ethnographic collections, as well as an interesting historical and artistic asset.
The Museum has two different nucleus dedicated to the local artist Jorge Almeida Monteiro and to the writer Júlio César Machado.

The museum is constituted by archaeology, sculpture and medals rooms, as well as a temporary exhibitions room, a library and historic archive and an interesting ethnographic exhibition with representations of the traditional and rural activities so important in the Bombarral region.
