Pego do Inferno Waterfall

The beautiful Pego do Inferno is situated in the Santo Estêvão small village, at about 7km distance from Tavira and is one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Algarve, particularly different from the touristic image of the golden coast Algarve.

Pego do Inferno is one of the Asseca stream Waterfall, providing a bucolic landscape.

Recently the space suffered improvement works, with a new pedestrian walk, and more leisure space to enjoy this delightful landscape.
The highlight of the pedestrian walk is the lovely Pego Viewpoint where one can observe this amazing waterfall and all the astonishing landscape.
This waterfall forms a round pond, of a Mediterranean green, surrounded by a refreshing arboreous area.
After parking, the access to the Pego do Inferno is made for about 100 meters until reaching a wooden stairway, where the pedestrian walk starts, descending for about 300 or 400 meters down.
