Ponta dos Rosais

On the northwest side of the amazing São Jorge coast, in the Rosais small village, is located the Natural Reserve of the Ponta dos Rosais, an area of high coastal cliffs of great beauty, with a very unique vegetation, from where one has excellent panoramas.

Located at about 200 meters high above the sea level, from here one can observe the highest point in Portugal, on the neighbour Pico Island, located at 2351 meters high.

The Ponta dos Rosais houses important species of fauna and flora, namely avifauna and also submarine species, being also an interesting place of agriculture and cattle breeding, which promote lovely rural typical panoramas.
