Malpartida Ancient Bridge

Malpartida - Almeida

Information

Situated in the lovely small village of Malpartida, nearby Almeida, this ancient bridge is popularly named as “Roman” due to the historical facts of the region.

In fact, several historic and archaeological facts confirm the importance of the region during the Roman occupancy periods, s well as some afterwards Moorish vestiges.

This construction over the lovely Seco river might have been erected during the Roman occupancy period and probably suffered some restoration works in later centuries, or even might have been built over a previously construction from the Roman period, re-utilizing materials from the previous building.
