Sandomil's Old Bridge

Seia

Information

Situated in the beautiful Sandomil small village, nearby Seia, this ancient bridge built in stone over the River Alva is inserted in a rural and bucolical landscape of great beauty.

The locals name the bridge as “Roman”, affirming that this bridge served as a military link to ease the passage of the armies between Sandomil and the surrounding settlements.
Nevertheless, other studies suggest that this is a medieval bridge probably built over a previous roman building, and the materials of this previous construction were used on this bridge.

This bridge fits perfectly the landscape, over the crystalline waters of the astonishing Alva River.
