Ponta Ruiva Beach

Vila do Bispo

Ponta Ruiva Beach owes its name to a big ochre rock in south side of the beach, where a wave, very famous among the surfers, is formed. The reddish tones of this big rock contrast strongly with the dark tones of the high surrounding high cliffs.
The access to the beach is through a footpath of medium difficulty.
The beach is a very quiet and calm, without any human modifications.

How to get here
Several accesses from Sagres and Vila do Bispo without any signage and non-asphalted, with around 6km long.

Small Car Park in the top of the hill. The beach does not have any other facility or lifeguard available.
