Alcofra Tower

Located on the beautiful Caramulo Moutain, in the Alcofra small village, the Alcofra Tower is an heritage that has survived the passage of time.
Towering above a valley composed by fertile soils, this is a region with an ancient human occupancy.

The Medieval Tower was built between the 12th and 14th centuries, over a primitive hill fort.
The tower was part of the domains of this land’s medieval Lord, and nowadays is what is left of the architectonic set. There are other two assembling towers in the region, yet this is the best conserved one nowadays.

The Alcofra tower presents a square plan, with defensive characteristics, accessible by a door with a round arch. The second floor presents a window on each side, providing luminosity and observation points.
