Vila do Bispo

Great part of the Vila do Bispo municipality is inserted in the Natural Park of the Alentejo Southwest and the Costa Vicentina. Vila do Bispo has the great privilege of maintaining itself almost intact face to the Algarve tourism and construction increase.
An almost wild mountain range and many beaches along the coast allow the visitor to fully enjoy the contiguous nature. Here it is possible to admire dozens of species of wild flower, and to watch animals like the wild boar and the eagle in their natural habitat. An opportunity for an endless variety of enjoyable walks, along cliffs and beaches, across hills and valleys.
The narrow streets, which surround the church, contain many houses typical of the old Algarve, with whitewashed walls, bands of bright colour, carved stonework around doors and windows and cool shade even in the dog days!
Vila do Bispo region is often frequented by Surfers and practitioners of other nautical sports, because of the wildness of the coastline, and the quality of the winds and waves of this region.
