Church of Our Lady of Carmel

Information

Built in 1885, the church of Our Lady of Carmositua is perched on a hill overlooking the sea, the village of Taipa and housing for now restored as museums of ancient beach.
Also called the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Our Lady of Carmel), marking the arrival of the Portuguese to Taipa.
The site is very popular for celebrating weddings and tours today remains the only Catholic church on the island.

With an area of 186 square meters, vilslumbra up a building of rare beauty that includes a steeple.
Divided into 3 levels, we nave, the choir and the bell tower.
In the main altar one can find an image of the Virgin Mary, while on either side are placed two statues of guardian angels to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the church.
Already in the two side altars are the image of Jesus of St. Joseph
