Cinco Ribeiras Natural Swimming Pools

Located on the southwest coast of the wonderful Terceira Island, on the greenish Azores Archipelago, these beautiful Natural Swimming Pools of Cinco Ribeiras are one of the main highlights of the region, not only for its natural beauty but also for the pleasant leisure moments they offer.

The interesting configuration of these rocks had origin in the Santa Bárbara mountain Volcano eruption that expelled lava and rock fragments, composing different geological stratums that have been sculpted by sea and wind erosion.

Nowadays adapted to leisure area, the Cinco Ribeiras Natural Swimming Pools provide several facilities, as well as good accesses.

Nearby is situated the military fort built during the Spanish occupancy period (1583-1640) and the picturesque Nossa Senhora de Lurdes Chapel.
