Milícias Beach - Livramento

Known as Milícias or Grande Beach, this is one of the most famous Beaches of the amazing São Miguel Island, on the Azores Archipelago, and is also one of the most frequented beaches in the region.
With a considerable dimension, the beach is situated on the southern coast of the island, quite close to the lovely town of Ponta Delgada.
Due to the Island’s volcanic features, the sandy area is dark, as it is quite typical of the Island, with a pleasant surrounding, an ocean calm and agreeable, with good accesses and conditions.
Because of the good water conditions, the Beach is quite frequented by surfers, body boarders and divers, as well as other nautical sports practitioners.
