Fontinhas Forest and Leisure Reserve

Located on the lovely small village of Santo Espírito, on the amazing Santa Maria Island, Azores Archipelago, the Fontinhas Forest and Leisure Reserve presents a pleasant leisure and peace of mind space.

Occupying an area of about 3 hectares, at about 250 meters high, the Fontinhas Forest and Leisure Reserve houses interesting flora species, mainly cryptomerias, but also endemic and exotic species, with big exemplars of arboreous ferns .

Offering many pleasant shadows, the Reserve is also equipped in order to provide gracious moments to all visitors, with a nice snack park, a children’s park, toilets, viewpoints, arboretum area and the lovely “veredas” that allow pleasant pedestrian walks.
