Maia Zoo

The Maia Zoo is the main highlight of this town located in the area of the Great Oporto, attracting every year a large number of visitors.

A privileged leisure area, the Zoo offers several facilities and a diversified fauna, aiming for the protection and preservation of several species.

Therefore, one can find in Maia Zoo several ambiances, among them the “Arca de Nóe” (Noah’s Ark) dedicated mostly to the enigmatic species, such as poison snakes, scorpions, tarantulas, night animals, piranhas, among many others; the largest and best equipped “Reptilarium” of the Country; the “Quintinha” (little farm) which has animals and objects that can be found in a real farm or even the “Seal show” that amazes both children and adults.
