With an area of 24 ha, the park covers an area with large open lawns and a forested area with lots of locations of nice landscape.

The current Garden is the result of two farms of the sixteenth century and is the third largest green spot of the capital, after Monsanto and the Parque da Bela Vista. There are new structures of roads, paths, parks, and recreational facilities for childrens, a stage for performing shows, the reception and exhibition area, a restaurant and cafeteria.
