Outeiro Caslte (Ruins)

The Outeiro de Miranda region has had human occupancy since, at the very least, the Roman domain of the Iberian Peninsula.

The Castle was probably built during the reign of king D. Dinis (1279 to 1325) in the end of the 13th century, yet the origin of the previous fortification is still unknown.

During the reign of king D. João I, around 1400, the castle defences were reinforced, with the walls reconstruction, destroyed with the conflict that lasted between 1383 and 1385.

The Castle, probably due to the fact that the locality developed outside its perimeter, was doted to oblivion and only in 1995 is classified as a Public Interest Building, nevertheless not much of this monument is left nowadays.
