Paderne Roman Bridge

Paderne - Albufeira

The Bridge of Paderne (also known as “Roman Bridge”) is situated over the bank of Quarteira, in the immediacies of the Paderne Castle and was probably built to serve the castle.

Above the central arch there is an inscription that refers the year 1711, probably relating to the year when some works of transformation for consolidation of the structure and recuperation of the walls took place.

The Bridge is straight along the way and consists of three round arches lying on two strong piers.
