Dr. Sun Iat Sen Memorial House in Macau

Information

This site pays tribute to the stay of Dr. Sun Iat Sen in Macau, at the beginning of the last century. A short but significant when, fleeing from the power of the imperial mandarins, tried to move his supporters to plan the establishment of a new regime in China. He was the mentor and driving force of the Chinese republican revolution that toppled the regime of weak Qing Dynasty.
Revealing a charismatic personality who united the Chinese, it is therefore regarded as the "Father of the Nation."

The house, formerly known as "House of the Sun", was built in 1912 to serve as a residence for his first wife, Lu Muzhen.
It is located within walking distance of Lou Lim Ieoc where Dr. Sun once was during his subsequent visits to Macau in 1912.

Designed mock-Moorish style, the house is a large three-story building with ornate balconies and spacious patios.

The House is open to the public, being possible to see their books, letters, photographs, personal objects and old newspapers that tell part of his life and the Chinese republican revolution which finally overthrew the regime of the Qing Dynasty in 1911.
