Situated in Covão do Boi, right in the heart of the wide Estrela Mountain, this is a bas-relief sculpture, carved in a rock, inaugurated in 1946, representing Nossa Senhora da Boa Estrela, the protector Saint of the Shepherds.

The sculpture, with more than 7 meters high, was made by António Duarte, after an ideia of the local priest that wanted to pay homage to the protector saint of the shepherds. Shepherds are one of the main characteristic of the Estrela Mountain, which main productions are the ones derived from sheep, such as the well know Estrela Cheese, or the Woollen Textiles and products.

Every second Sunday of August take place the Festivities in honour to Our Lady of Boa Estrela, attracting many visitors.
