Azinhal

Castro Marim

Information

Azinhal is a peaceful small village, in the Castro Marim department, situated by the gorgeous Guadiana riverbank, in a landscape symbolic of the “other” Algarve, filled with charisma and beauty, distant from the tourist beaches of golden sand.

The village is characterized by its natural beauty and peace of mind, filled with tradition and social, human and architectonic heritage, influenced by the great Guadiana river and by the proximity with the Spanish border.

Azinhal is proud of its lovely Espírito do Santo Church and of the several rural legacy, like the Windmill in the top of a mount from where one has an astonishing panorama.

Land of traditions, Azinhal is famous for its Pastry and Sweets and also for the production of the much appreciated typical Bread.
