Headquarters and Interpretation Centre of the Ria Formosa Natural Park

The Headquarters and Interpretation Centre of the Ria Formosa Natural Park is situated in Quinta do Marim, in Olhão. Here the visitor will be able to find an example of the ecosystems diversity of the Ria Formosa, and also several visit suggestions.
The interpretative pedestrian walk through the Park takes about one hour and thirty minutes, in a stretch of around 3km, but if you have plenty curiosity for exploring all this natural habitat, you can always stop in the wooden cabins strategically built for a better Fauna observation of all the diverse species natural environment.
The visitors of the Natural Park can also visit a Roman Archaeological Station from the 4th century, a windmill, a tuna barge, a bird observatory, an aquarium, the Poet João Lúcio’s Chalet where currently functions an environment-education centre, a bird recuperation centre and a Portuguese Water Dog’s breeding centre.
